Dr. Atdhe Hetemi, Executive Director of the Institute for War Crimes Committed During the Kosovo War, presents the work of Kosovo’s first public institution tasked with investigating and documenting crimes committed during the 1998–1999 war. His talk explores how the Institute contributes to transitional justice, collective memory, and the long-term process of reconciliation in a post-conflict society. What challenges arise in confronting the past, and how can systematic documentation support truth, accountability, and a democratic future?
